Our Strasse in Kreuzberg

It is always a How does one change? You do something in spite of yourself.
I think this must be how we got here.
You take off the funny glasses and light a fire under your own ass.
Yes, we did that, and now we are here.
You go where you feel called, even though the comforts of home will soon be luring you back.
Hey, we are still here!
So begins the epic saga of transformation of the human…the continual endeavor of entertaining life’s Mysteries with our own desires…..and my……… how the Mysteries can laugh!
In all seriousness, with the good graces of the world’s workings, we have been welcomed.
Our reception wagon of new friends and fellow ex-pats is creating the kind of warmth that new inhabitants dream of. We feel very lucky to have had what we have had the past few months; 3 cozy and rather large places to stay while in search for permanent home (thank you Fernando y Carlos, Robert and of course Barb und Alex), the kindness of strangers (many of which have become our friends) and the amount of synchronicities is just astounding! These new friends are assisting us with our Visa preliminaries, and through the coincidences of non -coincidence, we met our new employers/clients. Jessica has been studying with various brilliant dance-minds (Barbara Mahler, Rosalind Crisp, Felix Ruckert, Peter Pleyer, Howard Katz…..) choreographing a fresh trio work with 2 fellow talented dancers from Greece and Israel, and can be seen as a flygirl for German hip-hop artist Marteria, on his MTV music video premiere. Black cat suit, heels and few Euro to boot for some, hmmm, how shall we say?… artistically impeccable “street improvisation skills.”
Luke is working on developing an original music score for the trio (reminiscent of a dinner conversation with Buster Keaton, Herbie Hancock, Prefuse 73 and a horror film) and found freelance work animating the upcoming MTV video of German hip-hop sensation artist Peter Fox (of the former hip-hop/reggae/dance hall collaboration SEEED). If you come visit, look us up…with all this work for German hip-hop and MTV, we may have altered our image from impoverished artist bohemians to sportin’ serious ghetto gear..Kreuzkölln style, wuuuurd. (Or rather W(V)ooooooort!)
